Maya Road and Xyron Swap - Day 5

It's Day 5 of Maya Road DT and Xyron Swap!  Have you been checking out the inspirations under the hashtags #mayaroad #xyron ? I hope you have been enjoying all the projects by the DTs!

What's a blog swap without prizes? Don't forget to check out more details on the blog swap here! There is an amazing prize for this swap at the end of the week!

Creating for this swap had been a breeze! With the right tools and great embellishments, the project time was shortened and creativity spiked! I used both the 1.5" and 3" sticker makers for this project. I find the variety of sizes good for different embellishments.

For today, I decided to construct an easel card drawer. This idea had been roving in my mind for some time now, and I decided to put my hands on it!

Easel cards can be stored flat yet opened up to stand when the receiver receives it. So I thought, why not add a drawer to include some special gifts for the receiver as well?

So I started out with making the starburst background for my card. The triangular shapes were cut from different pattern papers and I used the Xyron 3" sticker maker to provide adhesive to my pieces. It's so convinient!

See? All the bits and pieces are now ready for use. I even had excess for my next project!

Next i prepared some die-cuts to use for my easel card. These Maya Road dies are my top favorites! Here you will see the diagonal ATC die-cut, Amazing Grace Script diecut, Geometric Leave die-cut and my latest favorite floral die! You need this die for sure!

Here's a short video on how I used the Xyron with Maya Road dies. Never lose that dot above your "i" anymore!

I started out adhering the triangle pieces in a starburst fashion and stitched them with a sewing machine. For the die-cuts, I simply ran them through the Xyron sticker makers! Running them through was fun and easy!

Oh yes, i ran a chipboard through as well! I'm using a chipboard piece from Maya Road - Shot through the Heart chipboard set. For this piece, I took my markers and colored it.

Everything is now ready for me to start decorating!

Here is a another closer look into the drawer box. Yes I did run this Maya Road token through the 3" Xyron sticker maker too!

Boy this was fun! Hope you have enjoyed this walk through the making of this easel card drawer!
