Box Card with Xyron

Hello crafters! Today I am sharing a box card which I have done recently. There is so much fun going on at my craft table with all the small bits of details! Now, with my Xyron in place, adhering small / intricate diecuts are easy!

Here's the box card which I have created:

I like box cards! It can be flattened to mail for your intended recipient as well! It is such an amazing gift to receive! I arranged the elements such that it is also balanced when closed. 

There are so many small elements in this project. Xyron just makes life easier (and fun)! No mess, no fuss. Just drop your diecuts to the Xyron and pull the tab. Viola! You get a full backed adhesive to those hard to glue die-cuts! Perfect adhesion at all times. I used my Xyron for the envelopes, hearts and alphabets die-cut in this project. Life-saver!

Flowers!

I mentioned in my previous posts about my dear students taking examinations soon and have also made some cards for them. And then I realised that it's going to be Children's day pretty soon! I'm gonna need to kick my butt for nearly forgetting! 

So my last ingredient - lollipops! Somehow this always works with children - and teenagers - ok I lose, and me. :)

Inspired by Meljen's Recipe Challenge and such a wonderful freebie on monday!

Argh! And after taking all the pictures, I realised that the 3rd brad can't be seen! Waahh!! It's actually the most important brad, holding the ribbon and the card in place right at the middle top! It's hidden by my beautiful flowers!

So there - 3 Brads, 2 flowers, 1 ribbon and I added a lollipop!

Here's what I "cooked" :

A flower lollipop!

Ok I should probably mention these are tongue stainers too. Come'on, which kid doesn't like to show their parents some green / red / blue tongue? *Wink*

It's quite simple and I reckon it could be done with larger lollipops as well.

First you cut the flowers and make a hole in the centre.

My advice is to make a slightly smaller than lollipop stick hole so that you can slowly twist it upwards and it wont fall down easily.

This time I made 2 flowers, on on top of the other - isn't the flower from Meljen cute?

Then I tied the ribbon to the stick and the small tag.

That's most of the job done!

The base is a simple styrofoam cube, and dressed with papers on the outside. Just make a hole with the lollipop and there you have it!

Simply wrap with cellophane or plastic wrapper and twist some wires / ribbons / clips, then it's ready as a gift! :)

Finally with the computer~

I think each and everyone of us is used to having a laptop or a computer with us.

And when my computer died a week ago, I was really feeling nauseous! I'm feeling retarded without my comp, and my IT had to save whatever he could. Don't you just hate viruses!

Now back to my old-new comp. and still feeling retarded. Iphone just doesn't replace the functionality of the computer, and I cant make any changes to the blog pages. Even the comments that I tried to type was voided because I cant view the verification code!

Irritating, but here I am - back and still alive!

On the happier end, I had spent my teacher's day relatively happy. I used "relatively" because I'm drowned in the test papers to mark. (Year end exams are coming right up!) But I was happy because of the wonderful gifts from my students. See the pictures, and you know why I was so touched!

Narmeen looked at a picture in her ipod and painted this. Look at the trees by the side... Amazing!

Jolene managed to draw me! OMG! It's really looking like me... How can you not love these kids?

See? Aint they lovely! Love them so much!

And I did make a little thank you gift for the children... They've spent some time and effort on the cards and presents... I thought I will do something for them in return!

"Cupcakes"

I tried to do something "cupcake" alike.. Had to bulk do, so i guess it didn't turn out as neat as I thought it would be.. Hehehe. 

Nevertheless, I did manage to use my new coptic markers on the stamps!

Did you hear me speak of coptic markers? Yes, I invested! Still learning how to color nicely, but the tutorials on youtube were very helpful.... woohoot!

Basically, I filled a plastic container with marshmallows. Then I cut a little circle from the thank you paper and popped my Cupcake Anya to the lid of the container.

I did up my own outside wrapper, due to its rather larger size as compared to normal cupcakes, however, it's still roughly a semicircle. Then, I punched the top part with my Martha Steward punch...

It's that easy. :) I'm one lazy teacher... Hehehe...

When I got hold of the photo, I immediately had a lot of ideas in mind. Not exactly the most difficult ones, just simple ones to make something for a simple person like Irwin.

Part I

I wanted to make a box and a card to accompany the simple photoframe. So I did some blog hopping... Hop hop hop... Then I came to this. So inspiring! P/S: The designers are superb! Should go take a look yeah...

Here's what I came up with using the sketch, not one but 2! The box and the envelope were designed based on one sketch. See how inspiring that is?
