Roller Coaster Happiness!

Be prepared this post might overrun a little - I'm overwhelmed with happiness!!!

And so I woke up today, feeling really happy because it is the special day for my dd and me. It's been 3 years - and even though he is not in the country this year, I can feel his presence beside me. :) And he said he wanted to bring me to Taiwan! How sweet! Hahaha - and he also told me that he don't know how to keep the cards I made for him - and so why not I help him keep.. LOL, I think his next present would be a box. Hahaha. That makes the anniversary present a lot easier this time round... Hahaha...

Then I also received news on moving on. That was why I was not blogging for some days now - I was busy signing the new contract and clearing things at my current work place. Though I cant mention anything much now, I can say that I'm glad to find the new job and I'll be having a very different job scope. But sad to leave some of the wonderful colleagues here... This is life...

Today happens to be my best friend's birthday as well - here's to you Jaze - Happy Birthday! I've already sent u an SMS and I didn't forget!

Well, enough rambling about my roller coaster life - but there's more good news!

Over at LCOM Sketch 4, I was thrilled to see my creation picked! Woot! Thank you LCOM you made my day! Do give a try for Sketch 5 - it is going to be "sew" fun! :)

This week has been a wonderful week so far - I love to be part of all the fun in the scrapbooking arena and thank you - to all of you - for making my days so inspired and motivated. :)

Dont forget - RAK's still on - So dont forget to leave a comment in here for a chance to win!

Social SB-ing Pics & Updates

I haben been updating the blog as much as I'd like to... Sob... No time...

1. I've scheduled a trip for Indonesia to give a skill audit for my engineers on 22 - 26 March. Means I only have 3 weeks left in March in Spore.

2. This weekends I'd be away... Away away away.... And hence March is short of 3 days more... 23 days left...

3. I've to study real hard from now on... That takes up the rest of the 23 days... And the exams will come, the projects would be due. Why did I start studying anyway? Hahaha...

Finally got some time to jump here & there in the blogs that inspire me so much... And saw that pictures have been posted at School of Carton (Social Scrapbooking) on 9th Feb! What? Have I been that busy all month with the CNY and preparations for training? Argh. Feb goes and March comes. Now I see it! I miss all the friends that gathered for the SB class... And I'm currently ordering the kit from Studio Calico via Eva! I cant wait for the kit to arrive, and for me to start my hands on the new kit... & possibly meet up with Eva to have some SB fun!

Ok back to the photos that day. It was great great great! When were they taken?? Hahaha...

They tell me how much I loved to be there and we were sharing ideas with each other there...

I have already done up my LO... Since I'd be away for the weekends, I guess I'll try to upload it before I go away on Friday... If not it'll have to wait... :)

SB Fun with Leena & Yinwen.. Beary Fun... Pencillines...

My weekends had been scrappily fun!

Last Saturday, I joined the social SB session by Yinwen, and boy I was glad to have made some SB friends through the event. In Singapore, there is really little chances of getting together and I'm glad we spent some time gossiping about the techniques and different purposes on SB-ing, while also completing a LO with the goody pack from ScrapbookCarton! I've also learnt useful techniques, like how to layer with more embellishments! Happy... i also found someone to share the SC kit with me! hehehe! Finally, I can start on the kit... Love it to bits! And this is what I've managed to achieve at the end of the class. And since I loved the sketch at Pencil Lines Sketch #172, I've used it to generate my LO. :)

Pencil Lines Sketch 172 and Social Scrapbooking

So I returned home feeling happy, and decided that I should come up with another LO to complement this LO. Hehe. So.. Here goes the flipped Sketch 172 from pencillines. Unfortunately I've to respect the decision of the person in the photograph to mosaic it... LOL. He says it looks ugly. I thought it was the person more than the skill of the photographer. Well... (hehehe!)

Some of the close-ups of Back2Back....
and here's Face2Face close-ups...
==================

Saturday ended with dinner with dd, how other way would I want it to end the day with? Hehehe. Of cos it was a great day!
Here's my reward of the night - a whole plate of HUMS!
==================

Another crazy sunday with loads of fun! Attended the canvas + LO class with Leena! Finally got to meet her after seeing her wonderful blog. The class is wonderful! We had lots of "flicking" fun, and made use of mists etc... Was a very educative and fun class! With a very welcoming host aka teacher, and her lovely son Ethan, who is so fun and friendly! (Oooh I love it when he shows up at the windows! And he absolutely loves paints!)

See the happy faces? We had loads of fun!
My very own piece of "art" which I adore....
==================

Special thanks to Leena and Sindy for helping me with the "love-shaped" lights mystery! Check out Leena's blog or the website suggested by Sindy for more tutorials! I'll try my hands on it once I can find some time off from my schedule... Looks very fun! I cant wait!
==================

And while I am travelling on the roads, here's what I've been up to.... It's boring to spend the trip sleeping or just gazing into blank spaces, and the journey is long... So... here's what I do to fill the empty moments and to accomplish something for my dd....

My Vdae Project...

Currently, it's completed! As of last night actually. Hahaha. And my dear daddy gave me a wonderful comment. "It actually looks nice!" hahaha.... He hardly tells me what I do is nice. Wait till he sees my canvas project featuring my grandmother and grandfather (from Leena's Class)! Hehehe. Yesh, I am working on that.... :)
==================

Last week I did my finishing touches to my LO based on Pencil Lines Sketch #171. Have you ever done a LO and realised it looks somehow wierd? I dont know, mine did.. But anyways, it's made by me. Hahaha. Probably a wrong day... LOL.

Pencil Lines Sketch #171
And some close-ups...
Phew... That was a long blog that took me an hour! Kinda pictures overloaded, hope it was easy to digest. LOL. I'll try not to clutter so many things over one blogging, but it's difficult to find time to upload the pictures, especially over the weekends. And also special thank you to all who left their congrats to me in email and comments... :)

Now now, back to work - ultrasound testing on the way... Wonder if i could see what lies beneath my tummy? Maybe I'll see a million worms swimming in my stomach eating up all the food.... Argh. I'll tell u more after the testing... Hehehe...

Photo Updates & Busy Schedules

Phew, the worst of my part of the week is over, finally getting some precious time to relax and review the week.

Last weekends, as I mentioned earlier, I've attended Shinni's Enchanted cupcakes and Tuck in Tarts class. And I was so happy to be mixing, stirring (I still kinda cant get over the stirring part... it was the crux of the class!), decorating (my favourite!)..... Best of all, I realised I cant crack eggs. What happened to those eggs i cracked into my maggie mee?! Hahaha. Yah spills and all. But the tarts and the cupcakes turned out to be gorgeous and delicious! I am very determined to do that again! My hard work was used to feed my dd and my family mostly.. but I had a good bite onto the tarts and the cupcakes, and I'm hooked! Haha. After CNY, more baking! Here's the class picture after enchanted cupcakes, we made some really beautiful and delicious ones!

That's the group of us. Realised all of us were grinning ear to ear? Cos they asked me how long the timer is set. But I didnt know. LOL. So i asked them to pose and wait. Hahaha. When the light started blinking, we were like "ok ok hurry smile it's taking!" :)

Here's my teacher at work! Shinni! Pretty isn't she?

------------------------------

I am also brewing something for my dd for Vdae. Actually it was more meant for me to hug, him to bully and I'm almost sure that his nephew will use it as a baseball or soccer ball soon (in collaboration with my dd of cos!) But hey it's the fun of making something that makes the season a season of love right?

------------------------------

The weekdays have been filled with work, work and more work. I had our thailand engineers coming over for training and I was supposed to fill them up with 3 days of training, whilst my colleagues finish up the other 2 days. I am also planning for my next trip real soon, and probably will go to Indonesia at the end of the month. Argh, so tiring~

------------------------------

After work on wed, I was really dragging my feet for tuition. But I had a little surprise from this little girl on my second lesson with her.
ok, i need to blank out my other personal data cos it's personal. LOL.

------------------------------

And for any other free time, I'm looking out for more ways to expand my photography knowledge. Especially after reading Leena's blog, I had to go do some "hands-on" sessions! :)
[ Leena, I love the blue lighting too~ Could you please teach me the hearts lighting as well? :) ]
Here's what I tried my hands on this week.

I had fun playing with lights this time. They melt me. They tell me love and hope. This month for Feb, since it is also known as the month of love, my theme would be around love. It could be anything I love, or anything that displays love. I'm sure there would be quite a bit out there. Hahaha.

Till my next update then, and I'm sure I've more to share. Drop me a comment, tell me your week and tell me which photo u like best. :)

I just happened to remember this plague I saw on my previous office mantel. LOL. It is kinda cute sitting there. And gives me an inspiration for scrapping. :)

Back to Blog. Work Changes . Donald Miller . 365

Alrights I am back. With a new blog theme and new layout, but the author writing all these is pretty much the same. Except maybe with a little more knowledge with XML or HTML. haha. Basically I aint a very bright child when it comes to programming in all sorts of languages. I even had to seek help from a friend in order to do up my programming project for me during poly days.. So you see? I did try to change the header width and certain post elements, together with the header which wasn't present in the original language that was written by this genius. So hey, that's something accomplished!

Apart from blog upgrading works, I've been busy at work. Recently there has been news of another workshop to provide repair services for another market. However, there also has been news of posting me to another section headed by another manager. Not that I mind the change of job scope. But I do mind being under some manager who doesn't have any technical background and does not behave in a way that staffs would respect him. And moving away from my current manager would be very very tough. Well, now I can only wait and see and negotiate whatever terms I can. Fingers crossed. I am physically and mentally tortured now.

School has started now with a great bang. Assignments due right after CNY, and  a whole load that is coming up in March. But I wont have long before I decided to take the electives, which would definitely be different from my friends. And that part is... I dont even want to think about then.

Recently, I've been reading a book called "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years" by Donald Miller, introduced by Ali Edwards. This book tells a lot about the kind of stories we live in, and what they mean. Honestly, I've not read such a good book for a long time. A book that kept me going, and wanting to know more. You can get this at Kinokuniya, Orchard. If you're really interested, and don't mind waiting until after CNY, you may get it from me. I never keep any of the books after I read. I sorta do book reviews for each book and then sell it out to people who wants to read it. Email me if you are keen on the book. (Email link on top or right sidebar below my profile picture.)

Have a great week people, and yeah, I'm still having fun with taking pictures everyday. They mark the story in my life. Are you on the same project? Leave a comment and let me know! :) And yesh, I've stepped out of my comfort zone using my sony point and shoot camera. It's the SP570UZ (Olympus) that I'm using now... Yes, I bring it out along with me wherever I go now. It's bulky but it's fun to tell a story of a year in my life in photos!
