Last Day of Freedom

and well, tomorrow's going to be a work day for me. I'm starting work officially. Feeling's quite mixed. I remembered I did quit my regional job so I can settle down with my dd. But as time went on, settling down seems too far away. I'm not sure if this job will suit me. But with a hopeful heart, I'm going to work tomorrow.

I remembered how I always missed my dd when he travels. LOL, he travelling and me travelling. I wont be surprised one day to meet him in one of the countries...

Inspired by Moments Recorded which is hosted by Jie Ying, here's my layout of the memories of those days. Really quite some time back. Edited the photo since it was used before.

Had to mute out his photo and the sentiments... :) My dd "blog-shy" lol~

This challenge was really fun because there are 100 rules.. LOL ok kidding~ But because there were so many guidelines, it's what I really call a challenge~ and it's fun!

So there! Need to get some beauty sleep and be fresh for work tomorrow~!

Kaisercraft Sat Sketch #2 Feb - Unforgetable Love With You

Oh bother.. I must have clicked something. Or have done something extremely wrong! That's how my post for Kaisercraft #2 Feb Challenge went missing! And luckily I'm detecting this mistake, so I'll have to re-post. Honestly, I can't remember what I've written in my previous post, so I'm doing this from scratch again... Do bear with me. I'm such a muddle-head!

I started working on this LO because of the papers actually. Because I love the sweetness and the princess feel to it. More of my thoughts were to capture the papers rather than the photo. Haha. I especially loved the tag that says "The perfect shoes can change your life - Cinderella" and it was from the 6.5" paper pad. I really love Kaisercraft's paper pad. It really makes a whole lot of sense to include some tags for use, either on LO or for cards. In fact, I'm using this collection on a card right as I speak.

In any case, I don't take much photos except when there is an occasion. And now that my hard disk is throwing a tantrum with a faulty power cable, I'll have to make do with the photos that are currently in my computer.

It's amazing how "unsharpened" I am right now. The cutting of the pp took me 2 hours to sit and slice. Haha. No wonder they said practice makes perfect. I've been too lazy with my LOs! :)

Kaisercraft Sat Sketch #1 Feb - Lucky

Do you have a song that you keep repeating in your mind? I've been humming this song ever since last week and I still can't get it out of my mind. Heard this on the car in my CD. So I did a LO for it.

Jason Mraz - Lucky

Lyrics here.

I'm really lucky. I guess I've found a friend, a soulmate and maybe a partner in life to confide in or to turn to. I might have scrapped this photo many times, but it was the photo that came along into my mind when I hummed this song. So memorable a photo. Well, I might as well say this is the only photo that I didnt have to go like "DD, can you please seriously smile? No cheeky faces!"

Included a tag to journal my feelings..

This was created with Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings collection, and it was fun to handle the embellishments because they were so easy to use! The additional bonus came from the inspiring sketch challenge at Kaisercraft. Love the final effects of the LO.

Think I'm about to get back to the hang of LO. Been such a long time away from creating LO, and it's good that I'm back. :)

Smiles

This time round, I wanted to showcase one of my favorite Magnolia stamps. It might not be a main focus stamp, but it does have a lot of meaning attached to the stamp. :) On top of that, I've also got a new stamp which I think will be present on all my cards from now on.

Dd was in Japan last week, and while I was missing him quite badly here in Singapore, he did got me some presents... I must be one lucky girl because he supports me in my scrapbooking craze quite a bit. (of course if he could help me financially that would be even better... Hehe... ) Yes, and he did remember I was looking for a stamp with my name. It's really hard to find one spelling STACY instead of STACEY. I've been hunting in Singapore, but over the years, my hope just went down. And he found it!

It's difficult to be showcasing a lovey-dovey kind of Valentine's Day card for me. I guess it has to be something to do with dd and my personalities. We both detest romance quite a bit. Haha, so if you are one looking for romance, never date an engineer. Oh well, this card will work well for my valentine I suppose. :)

Card: {heart} felt

Technique class was so fun! It's always great to meet old friends and get to know new ones. It had been fun sharing the technique of book binding with others, and we chatted a lot on the way. I do hope you will make some more on your own! I'm making one notebook myself now, so it should be done soon I hope. :)

Maybe it's because my dd is going overseas for training soon, been really moody recently. Just came back from shopping with him for some thermal wear, and went to catch a movie starred by my very own niece... A local show and quite proud of the show. And very proud of my niece indeed... :)

My niece in actual life

So there. As I was saying, I was a little moody and hence decided to spend more effort on my crafting instead. Hence, I came up with not 1 but 2 cards. Now I do feel a lot better. Lol. Can't think of life without crafting, is this sort of an addiction?

This card is inspired by the challenge hosted by TGF. I guess that will be my dd and me 20 years down the road. I do like this stamp set by TGF quite a bit. I think the characters speak to me, and somehow I do use them more than the rest of my stamps. :)

Whoot~ it's a great crafting day! Are you making cards for your love ones this Valentine's Day? I have not decided on what to do for my dd... Haha, any suggestions? But I may not have chance to celebrate this Valentine's Day with my dd, as I might have classes on that day. :)  oh well, as the saying goes, it's Valentine's Day everyday if the pair is happy right? Hehe...

I'm not so moody after the crafting. :) Yay!

There is always a reason for everything..

Earlier on I had the weirdest dream ever. It went like this: I was on the ferry. It was old fashioned and it was small. There were lots of people in the ferry, none whom I recognized. I didnt know where i was heading to.. And on the boat ride, I remembered I needed to call my grandmother, so I took my hp out, only to realize that there was no reception. So I held on to my hp, to remind me when I reach the terminal. Once docked, I was the first one out, and a father n kid was heading into the ferry while we were trying to exit. The little kid then knocked into me and there went my wallet and iPhone into the water. I was panicking and thinking that I didn't know where I was and wanted to call home. Without the phone I was so lost. And I cried and ask the guards to help. Then in panic mode, I woke up. I was terrified.

Today i was at AR and dropped my iphone because i was trying to sms my best friend. But i cant switch it on after. I stared at the blank screen and went blank. Luckily Don helped me press some buttons and tada! The iphone came back to life! Thankful for such a helpful handyman!

Then I was having dinner downstairs my home as usual. Joking with the staff and having my usual iced coffee. Then I went home. 3 hours later, I panic because my iPad was missing. My tears flowed because I know that I will never find it back. I used the app to find my iPad and it shows me that it was in a block near my house. I frantically went downstairs to check it out for nearly an hour. As a last resort, I used the app messaging to msg my iPad and hopefully the person who found it will return to me instead of switching it off. 10mins later, I was crying and worried. The iPad was a gift from my dd and if this was missing, he'd surely be mad at me...

Then a call came in. It was the staff from the coffee shop... And I woke him up from his sleep... Oops!

I can't tell u how thankful about how honest he was. I am grateful to him.

I thank today for being such a lucky day. I know I won't be so lucky everytime. I'm grateful for the honest and helpful people ard my life...

Thankfully!

Life always has ups and downs...

And friendships come and go...

Sometimes life gets pretty, meet new friends and then after a while, the novelty runs out and then life turns to a dark side.. Do you ever encounter this?

Sometimes friends take you for granted and you feel so sad and disappointed. You are expected to buy gifts for them or to do certain things for them yet the counter is rarely being observed. It's not being picky on equal terms, but when it's like a see-saw that never goes the other way, friendship tends to get a little tense.

I had 2 experience over this week. Both had made my life a little duller.

On a happier note, today's vintage tale class sparked me up a lot! We finished the box today and happy to know that one is doing a photo album using the similar technique! And the covers were gorgeous! Yummy!

That's just why I scrap everyday.

And dd has given me a lovely surprise to "tip-top" my day... So it just isn't that bad afterall...

How was your day? If it wasn't that good, stay positive because something better will come along soon!

Being happy

Hi there! Nope today I didn't have any crafting mood - not that I haven't been crafting but it hadn't been completed so really today I've got nothing to show. It's 2am local time but yet I'm unable to sleep. Geez, this might tell me how bad it'll be tomorrow at work...

In fact I slept in till 4pm today. It's been a long while since I allowed myself to sleep like this, but hey sometimes we do need rest right? :) and afterwhich I had dinner with my darling... It must be really happy because I haven't seen him for awhile and seeing him makes me feel so happy mostly because he was in a happy mood! Nothing could destroy my good mood, not even the spilt tea on my floor! Haha.. This time darling gave me a wonderful surprise-a necklace!

It's beautiful! Means I probably got something to scrap about now...

How did you spend your sunday? Hope it had been crafty and good! I'll be posting soon, hope my current project doesn't go wrong! Haha!

Roller Coaster Happiness!

Be prepared this post might overrun a little - I'm overwhelmed with happiness!!!

And so I woke up today, feeling really happy because it is the special day for my dd and me. It's been 3 years - and even though he is not in the country this year, I can feel his presence beside me. :) And he said he wanted to bring me to Taiwan! How sweet! Hahaha - and he also told me that he don't know how to keep the cards I made for him - and so why not I help him keep.. LOL, I think his next present would be a box. Hahaha. That makes the anniversary present a lot easier this time round... Hahaha...

Then I also received news on moving on. That was why I was not blogging for some days now - I was busy signing the new contract and clearing things at my current work place. Though I cant mention anything much now, I can say that I'm glad to find the new job and I'll be having a very different job scope. But sad to leave some of the wonderful colleagues here... This is life...

Today happens to be my best friend's birthday as well - here's to you Jaze - Happy Birthday! I've already sent u an SMS and I didn't forget!

Well, enough rambling about my roller coaster life - but there's more good news!

Over at LCOM Sketch 4, I was thrilled to see my creation picked! Woot! Thank you LCOM you made my day! Do give a try for Sketch 5 - it is going to be "sew" fun! :)

This week has been a wonderful week so far - I love to be part of all the fun in the scrapbooking arena and thank you - to all of you - for making my days so inspired and motivated. :)

Bee Mine Shadow Box + Capture & Cherish Everyday

Another inspiration from ICSketches. Did you already see it? They're calling out for DTs, just click on the link!

Oh how I love thee. Like the bees to the flower...

Oh I do love thee flower...
The cutting was tedious, but trust me, the final piece is lovely.
It's meant to be in a shadow box, and can you believe me? I let my shadow slip out of my fingers and the glass shattered!!! The sweeping was one thing. The needing to go out for shopping is another. Hahaha that would mean more than necessary purchases. LOL!

Capture & Cherish Everyday - Diary Cover
I was inspired by this sketch to do a cover for my diary cover.

Love the effects, it's my first time doing layering and it looks successful! hahaha.
The vintage look on the cardboard alphas. I used my stamp pad to cover / paint, and after it dries, I used some crackle paint.. Did I tell you I've already bought my heat gun? Hehehehe. Love it. The crackling sound is so amazing! Hehehe. Afterwhich I added my favourite colour - gold. And I must say, a lot of work but satisfied with the results.
Keys are a very important part of my life.
Well I guess I love the overall!

I opted for using a ready made fabric 6by6 album, cos I love the colour of it and being fabric, it looks cleaner.
I also prefer my diaries to be separable. Being always on the move, it is easier to be able to do my diary inserts separately instead of bringing the whole diary album out. Unfortunately, I'll have to source for other covers soon. The above mentioned album has already stopped production, i think.

So there, hopefully everyone is enjoying their scrapping life, it's beautiful isn't it?

Leena's Canvas + LO Class

Finally, I got some spare time to complete this canvas and LO.. Changed the original arrangements abit... Love love love it! And also learnt alot from Leena's class.. :) I'm sure my grandmother would be very happy to see this on CNY Day 3...

Also finished up this LO from Leena's Class... Did up the stitching and tag.. Although I've used this photo before.. But it's my favourite photo with DD.. Hence using it again is my pleasure... LOL.

Don't you just love Leena's works? I do!!!

SB Fun with Leena & Yinwen.. Beary Fun... Pencillines...

My weekends had been scrappily fun!

Last Saturday, I joined the social SB session by Yinwen, and boy I was glad to have made some SB friends through the event. In Singapore, there is really little chances of getting together and I'm glad we spent some time gossiping about the techniques and different purposes on SB-ing, while also completing a LO with the goody pack from ScrapbookCarton! I've also learnt useful techniques, like how to layer with more embellishments! Happy... i also found someone to share the SC kit with me! hehehe! Finally, I can start on the kit... Love it to bits! And this is what I've managed to achieve at the end of the class. And since I loved the sketch at Pencil Lines Sketch #172, I've used it to generate my LO. :)

Pencil Lines Sketch 172 and Social Scrapbooking

So I returned home feeling happy, and decided that I should come up with another LO to complement this LO. Hehe. So.. Here goes the flipped Sketch 172 from pencillines. Unfortunately I've to respect the decision of the person in the photograph to mosaic it... LOL. He says it looks ugly. I thought it was the person more than the skill of the photographer. Well... (hehehe!)

Some of the close-ups of Back2Back....
and here's Face2Face close-ups...
==================

Saturday ended with dinner with dd, how other way would I want it to end the day with? Hehehe. Of cos it was a great day!
Here's my reward of the night - a whole plate of HUMS!
==================

Another crazy sunday with loads of fun! Attended the canvas + LO class with Leena! Finally got to meet her after seeing her wonderful blog. The class is wonderful! We had lots of "flicking" fun, and made use of mists etc... Was a very educative and fun class! With a very welcoming host aka teacher, and her lovely son Ethan, who is so fun and friendly! (Oooh I love it when he shows up at the windows! And he absolutely loves paints!)

See the happy faces? We had loads of fun!
My very own piece of "art" which I adore....
==================

Special thanks to Leena and Sindy for helping me with the "love-shaped" lights mystery! Check out Leena's blog or the website suggested by Sindy for more tutorials! I'll try my hands on it once I can find some time off from my schedule... Looks very fun! I cant wait!
==================

And while I am travelling on the roads, here's what I've been up to.... It's boring to spend the trip sleeping or just gazing into blank spaces, and the journey is long... So... here's what I do to fill the empty moments and to accomplish something for my dd....

My Vdae Project...

Currently, it's completed! As of last night actually. Hahaha. And my dear daddy gave me a wonderful comment. "It actually looks nice!" hahaha.... He hardly tells me what I do is nice. Wait till he sees my canvas project featuring my grandmother and grandfather (from Leena's Class)! Hehehe. Yesh, I am working on that.... :)
==================

Last week I did my finishing touches to my LO based on Pencil Lines Sketch #171. Have you ever done a LO and realised it looks somehow wierd? I dont know, mine did.. But anyways, it's made by me. Hahaha. Probably a wrong day... LOL.

Pencil Lines Sketch #171
And some close-ups...
Phew... That was a long blog that took me an hour! Kinda pictures overloaded, hope it was easy to digest. LOL. I'll try not to clutter so many things over one blogging, but it's difficult to find time to upload the pictures, especially over the weekends. And also special thank you to all who left their congrats to me in email and comments... :)

Now now, back to work - ultrasound testing on the way... Wonder if i could see what lies beneath my tummy? Maybe I'll see a million worms swimming in my stomach eating up all the food.... Argh. I'll tell u more after the testing... Hehehe...
